I signed up why can't I login? Perhaps you have not activated your account. You need to check the signup email we sent you when you registered and click the activation link. I checked the auto login but I don't seem to be logging in automatically? You must be on the same computer that you checked that auto login with, cookies must also be allowed in your browser settings. Many university computers delete all your user settings everytime someone logs in, so if you logged in at uni with the auto login checked you won't be logged in to unichat the next time you login on your uni computer network. I don't go to university but would like to signup, can I do this? That's ok, you can signup by selecting 'Don't go to uni' at the bottom of the University select list. How can I edit my profile? Make sure your logged in first. Then click 'My Account' in the menu. Below your photo area you will see the 'Control Panel' box on the right. This box gives you all the options to modify your account profile and other settings. Some of my photos have been deleted, what happened? Most likely you uploaded photos that we consider offensive and a unichat moderator has removed it. How can I change my username? You can't change your username your stuck with it. Do not sign up for another account just to change your username, if you caught with 2 accounts then 1 will be deleted. How can I delete my account? You can't but you can send an email to us and we'll do it promptly for you. Make sure your serious about this as we remove it permanently and cannot reinstate this for you, you'll have to sign up again if you want to rejoin. How can I add buddies to my profile? When your browsing other people's profile's look at the Control Panel in there and you will an option for you to add them as your buddy. Why can't I add anymore buddies? The buddies list has a maximum of 20 buddies. If you want to add new ones you'll have to delete some first using the delete button at the bottom of your buddy list. How can I change my photo and upload more photos? To upload a photo select the number from the list corresponding to the number box above the photos below the select your file and click upload, the comments is optional. If you upload to a number box with a photo already in it then it will be deleted and replaced with the one you just uploaded. If your old photo is still showing up then your probably just need to refresh your page, click the profile menu button at the top and hold CTRL then press F5 at the same time your photo should now appear in your profile. I uploaded a new photo but my old photo is showing up? This is most likely a browser cache problem, that is the old image is stored on your computer still. Click on the profile button to go to your account screen if the old photo is still showing up then you can click the refresh button on browser and if that still doesn't work you can hold the "ctrl" button and press "F5" at the same time and that should work. If that still doesn't work then don't worry most other people will be seeing your new photo as will you eventually. Another option is to clear your browser cache, we won't explain how to do that as it's different on every browser, but usually you'll find this option in your browser preferences settings. Why can't I Rate people? Make sure you logged in first and that you have enabled your own photo to be rated, you can change this in your profile settings. How is the ratings caculated? The ratings are the total points that people have accumulated, it's not an average. Why is the top ten on the home page sometimes different than the more link?
